Some valuable hints to the users

• We, Indians from various slates and other people in the South
Asian Countries tend to speak English with on accent very much
influenced by our mother tongue. This makes our spoken English
unintelligible to each other at times. With the trend towards
globalization we recommend R.P or the Received Pronunciation –(ie
a socially accepted standard of English speech in Southern
England) to the students of Spoken English. It's always advisable to
find someone who can be a reasonable RP model to you.

• Using short forms of verbs and negatives profusely in your speech
will make your spoken English more natural and pleasing Pull
forms arc used mostly m formal writing such at business letters,
reports and academic writings- The short forms ore used in
informal writings and ore marked in print by an (‘) apostrophe. The
word that comes before a short form is generally a personal
pronoun. Here is a list of it for the benefit of our student.
